QUALIFICATIONS:
BE/ ME/PhD/MSc in Chemical /Bio Engineering /Environmental science /Biotechnology with
- Sound technical background in solid and liquid waste management technologies; anaerobic digestion concept; various anaerobic reactors; biogas management strategies and purification techniques with special focus on H2S removal; CDM projects; different agro industrial processes and its waste characteristics;
- Thorough knowledge in solid and liquid analytical procedures
- Experience in conducting lab scale /pilot scale experiments in anaerobic digestion
- Theoretical /and practical knowledge in biogas plant operation
- Basic knowledge in AUTOCAD ; P&ID ; intellectual property rights and biogas plant design
- Knowledge in government grants and research schemes is a plus
- Working knowledge in Microsoft word office; Microsoft excel; Power point and basic statistics

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate should be able to
- Design R&D projects based on the need a) General research topics that apply to the existing technologies b) Novel research topics that foresee the future c) Specific research topics that comply with the local / regional demand.
- Explore suitable niches; identify potential clients; collaborate with them to conduct industry based research.
- Conduct lab scale /pilot scale experiments right from planning; designing; budgeting to implementation of the whole project.
- Liaise with research Universities/Institutes of higher education/biogas experts and work on the proposed anaerobic projects
- Identify local and international fund programmes/schemes; associate with suitable research partners; prepare grant proposals and apply for the same.
- Closely work with the process and operation team of the company and help them with the technical expertise; seeding and operation (monitoring and characterisation of the waste water) of the full scale biogas plants.
- Liaise with the other R&D branches of the company (Argentina; Colombia HQ Cali and Honduras).
- Prepare MOUs, MOA and terms of agreement for the third parties (Universities) involved.
- Help the process team in field visits for pre feasibility and feasibility studies and assist them the subsequent report preparation.
- Attend relevant conferences (local and international) and meetings.
- Liaise with various biogas, anaerobic and environmental related forums
- Report to the Biotech Corporation of Malaysia on the R&D activities of the company the framework of the Bionexus status
